Produce CSA Share
If you are here reading this page you most likely know what a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share program offers.  Simply speaking it is a partnership between farmers and local families who value healthy, locally grown food.

We currently offer two options for a CSA share.  It will be a weekly or bi-weekly box of produce that is in season with amounts geared towards providing a family of four (Two adults and two children) with fresh fruit and veggies for the week.  The third option, mini-share, is limited to our institutional drop off locations.

Sounds Good, How does it work?
The process is simple.  Fill out and sign a short form stating that you would like to to signup for the season.  The form is located under the CSA menu at the top of this page.  Prepayment for the season is what is unique with a CSA share vs. buying produce in season on an as needed basis.  In this way you invest in the farm and “share” in the benefits and the risks the go with farming.  The benefits are fresh, locally produced produce from a farmer you know along with a fixed cost that will provide you with a array of veggies and fruit throughout the season.  You are also helping to support the farm.

You will receive a box each week filled with produce that is in season.  As the seasons change from spring to summer and finally fall, so too will the produce that is in your box change.  We are currently use returnable plastic or cardboard containers/boxes to deliver your produce.

I’m Interested – How do I signup
A signup form will be provided to the institutions that we partner with, it is also located under the CSA menu at the top of this page.  Please fill out the form and return it to us, or the CSA contact with your institution.  We will ask for your name, address, phone number and an e-mail address.  Payment in full or split amounts for a CSA share is required when you return your form.

What does it cost?
The cost for a full weekly share is $725 and the every other week option is $495.  The mini share is $395.  Produce deliveries will be begin in mid to late May or early June depending on the weather and continue through the middle of October, possibly later depending on the weather.  You may also be eligible for a rebate from your health insurance company for participating in a CSA.  Please see the Healthcare Rebate link under the CSA menu at the top of this page.

How will I get my share?
Partnering with your institution has a perk, your CSA share will be dropped off at your insitution each Thursday.  This will make it easy to pickup your share and return your empty boxes/containers each week.  We are planning on Thursday afternoon being the delivery day.  This will make it easy to drop off your empty containers in the morning and pickup the full ones in the afternoon.  Capitol Lakes in downtown Madison is our pickup location for the general public in addition to the pickup location for residents of Capitol Lakes.

What will be in each box?
This will vary with the season.  Take a look at our SAMPLE SHARE document to get an idea of what is included with each size share and during the season.

Please see the SCHEDULE page for approximate dates of when individual crops will be ready.
